Exhibitions and Museum
The Katla Geopark Exhibition is a part of the Tourist Information Centre in Vík. It includes information, pictures, maps and history about the Katla Geopark, with a focus on the volcanoes from the region. In the Katla Geopark you can see plenty of active volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, black beaches and lava fields.
If you wish to learn more about the region, you must visit the exhibition.

The Skaftfellingur Museum is located across the road from the Tourist Information Centre. The museum shows the story of the 100 year old ship, which was used by Icelanders between 1918 and 1974. In the museum you can see the ship, its engine and equipment. There is also a fascinating video about the Skaftfellingur.
There are also stories to read about 112 marine shipwrecks that have occurred in the south of Iceland.
