The dream of many Myrdalur was fulfilled on November 19, 2010 when the Kötlusetur was founded. 

Finally a knowledge centre in Vík was established.

The site is intended to be the educational and cultural centre in Mýrdalur.

Svavar Guðmundsson, fisheries scientist, has an office on the upper floor of Brydebúð. He provides advice on business, marketing and tax matters. He is a writer and with great management experience.

Voluntary Work >

When local authorities  join a volunteer associations, Kötlusetur has been responsible for project management and the organization of their stay.

We offer a variety of education in the Katla Centre. We can customize recreations for your group according to the size and the age. Question games, competitive or learning games and a variety of team building solutions.

We can guide and assist applicants with applications in the Structural Funds and other funds for instance, cultural and innovation.

Rainbow Festival >

The Rainbow Festival is an annual celebration of arts and culture in a beautiful environment.

The festival is held on the first weekend of October every year and is designed to embrace all cultures and arts.

Projects >

The activities in the Katla Centre are diverse.

The centre has secure funding for daily operations, but grants are always sought for special projects.
